These sermons went over a period of 3 weeks. Nehemiah was ordered to restore the gates of the city as part of the preparation for the return of the exiles. The Lord gave him specific, detailed instructions regarding which gates were to be restored and how. The names of the gates were given in order of importance.
I had the idea of the drawing after listening to the sermons but felt overwhelmed with the amount of information. So I made a list of all the walls with the significance of each as explained in the sermons. I did not touch it again for several weeks and honestly forgot all about it. However, the Lord reminded me of it again after a while and I went back to my scribbles and decided I had to do it or I would not have peace. Once I started working on it, it wasn’t as daunting as I had imagined it to be. I had put down most of the information I needed for the drawing in that scribbles I did. And I ended up a lot more stuffs to it. This project had made me go deeper into the text and appreciate the richness of God’s word.
