Painting helps enhance self-esteem, give a sense of control, and relieve stress and tension by taking the mind off of our problems. It is not only relaxing and rewarding but it will leave us feeling mentally clear and calm. It provides a distraction for our brains to break from our usual thoughts.
I have worked with cancer patients/survivors, the elderly, and people of all ages to help them use art as one of the healing tools they can use. I have come up with my own teaching method and using this method, I have been able to help guide my students in getting comfortable with painting, finishing their projects, and leaving the class feeling accomplished. I want to create a space for my students to be able to learn, create, and express themselves in a safe and comfortable way. It’s always my goal to make my classes easy and relaxing. Painting should be fun and not stressful. You will be amazed with the results you can achieve with my simple instruction.
All the materials are provided for you to use during class, and I can give you recommendations on where and what to buy if you are interested. You will get to take home all the artwork you create during classes.
So, forget what they told you at school; you can be creative. Just pick up a brush and unleash that inner child of yours. You’ll be amazed at how liberating it is and how much happier you will be.
